Dhiamn Mollais vr'Tem'nnhaivher (New Place for Discussions -- New Fora)

Dhiamn Mollais vr'Tem'nnhaivher
(New Place for Discussions)
[New Forum Site]

Following recent events (and while I am loathe to air such grievances publicly, the other party involved has done so already at least twice in an effort to save face, and therefore, I will state, for purposes of setting things straight, that the causes were personal disagreements of a real-world political and economic nature, which were preceded by his assumption applied to Linguistics that "democracy" means that the opinions of those ignorant of Linguistics are just as valid as the certain knowledge of those trained in Linguistics, and, while those were mere annoyances to me, there was also a stated intention to deny me credit for my work on expanding the vocabulary of the Rihan language, which was a much more serious affront indicating a total lack, not only of respect, but also, of integrity), our organization found itself in need of a new site to host our fora.  I never asked anyone to set up or host a forum site for us, but someone volunteered and did so, and we used that site for some time.  However, after he started working at a new job, his attitude began to change in several ways.  Some of the officers of our organization witnessed some of the events as they unfolded, and some have seen evidence which I was able to show them.

That's all I want to say about the past (but, by the Mother, I have numerous screenshots and logs, and even whole webpages saved, and I will dig them out and post them if he doesn't stop the childish routine of attempted character assassination), and now I want to move on.  Hopefully, this will be the last time I have to address the matter publicly.

This situation of needing a new site to host our fora was anticipated for some time, and so I had already taken steps in preparation by backing up all of the old fora (among other things ...).  I had also already been looking into alternatives;  frankly, I never wanted to have to rely on someone else, nor be beholden to them.  And as I already said, I didn't ask for him to set up that site;  he volunteered it and so we used it, but now his hospitality has been withdrawn, and so ...

I have set up a forum site for us myself now.  It will take a while to re-post everything and re-code it, but that's just a matter of copy-pasting and going back over to ensure that the BBCode is applied to make boldface, italic, hyperlink, etc.  A simpler way exists, but it would involve my uploading of things which would eat up my data allowance (because I live in an area where there are no unlimited data packages available for internet access no matter how much I am willing and able to pay, and I'm not terribly fond of paying "overage" fees).  Thus, I have to ask you all to be patient while I rebuild (although, fortunately due to foresight, not from scratch).  However, we do have fora again (That was fast, ie?  Like I said, I felt it coming for some time before it arrived.).  I've been working on this site for a couple of days now, and while it's still not quite ready for primetime, I think it's at a point now where we can start accepting members.  You'll need an account with Enjin.com, and you'll need to apply to our site and wait for me to approve your application;  I don't have any other Admins, SuperMods, or Moderators with many real privileges yet (although some have been assigned some of those tags and do have some privileges at this time), so I will still have to be the one approving applications until I have set up additional tools and privileges.

With no further ado, then, here is the link to the new forum site:

General Order Number 3:
Tal'Diann personnel are guardians of freedom and the New Romulan way of life.

General Order Number 4:

General Order Number 5:
Tal'Diann personnel are faithful to the Tal'Diann Oath.

General Order Number 6:
Tal'Diann personnel are challenged frequently with ethical dilemmata.  Having the intestinal fortitude to make tough decisions without violating mnhei'sahe, and knowledge of the ideals of the New Romulan Republic, enables Tal'Diann personnel to meet ethical dilemmata with decisions which are consistent with the values of the Tal'Diann.  Regardless of the situations in which Tal'Diann personnel find themselves, their decisions are consistent with the norms of the Tal'Diann.

General Order Number 7:
As leaders in the Romulan Republic Forces, Tal'Diann personnel must be obedient to doing the right thing at all times, even if it means disobeying the unjust order of a superior officer.  As leaders, Tal'Diann personnel must continue to set the example for others to follow, and must continue to maintain their integrity to mnhei'sahe.

General Order Number 8:
Tal'Diann personnel have obligations to the highest standards of performance and accountability to high ethical standards.  All Tal'Diann personnel must be the living embodiment of the Tal'Diann Ethic.

General Order Number 9:
For Tal'Diann personnel, it is not enough to win a battle or a war;  Tal'Diann personnel must also win in a manner that is consistent with the values of the New Romulan Republic and the principles of their cause.

General Order Number 10:
Tal'Diann personnel do not accept defeat.  When taken captive by a hostile force, Tal'Diann personnel must seek out any opportunity to engage the assailant.  Tal'Diann personnel will never leave a fallen comrade behind.

General Order Number 11:
Tal'Diann personnel will bear true faith and allegiance to the Constitution of the New Romulan Republic, the Tal'Diann, their unit, and other Soldiers.

General Order Number 12:
Tal'Diann personnel fulfill their obligations.

General Order Number 13:
Tal'Diann personnel treat people as they should be treated in accord with mnhei'sahe.

General Order Number 14:

General Order Number 15:
Tal'Diann personnel live up to all the values of the Tal'Diann.

General Order Number 16:
Tal'Diann personnel do what is right, legally and ethically.

General Order Number 17:
Tal'Diann personnel do not flee from fear, danger, or adversity (physical or moral), but rise to face them.

General Order Number 18:
Tal'Diann personnel guard everything within the limits of their posts, and may quit their posts only when properly relieved.

General Order Number 19:
No flag officer of the Tal'Diann shall beam into a hazardous area without armed escort.

General Order Number 20:
A command officer (Riov or higher rank) of the Tal'Diann will not engage a hostile force without the protection of a security officer, an engineer, a science officer, and a medical officer.

General Order Number 21:
On the approach of any vessel, when communications have not been established, a Tal'Diann warbird must go to yellow alert.

General Order Number 22:
If the dominant species of a planet be actively hostile toward the Republic and actually pose a clear and present danger to the Republic, and all efforts to achieve non-military resolution have failed, then all life on the said planet is to be eliminated by means of thalaron radiation or, if necessary, the destruction of the entire planet.

General Order Number 23:
The Tal'Diann has the authority to neutralize security threats to ch'Mol'Rihan by any means necessary.

Regulation Number 1:
Section A:  In the absence of the assigned commander of a warbird of the Tal'Diann, a flag officer of the Tal'Diann has the authority to assume command of the vessel, should they have deemed it necessary.
Section B:  Should it be proven with admissible evidence that the flag officer who has assumed command be medically or psychologically unfit for command, the warbird's ranking officer can relieve them on that basis.  However, such an action is required to be supported by an appropriate certification of unfitness by the ship's Chief Medical Officer (requiring the CMO to also produce test results to that effect) or other clear evidence, such as an act of attempted suicide.

Regulation Number 2:
As a last resort for the commander of a Tal'Diann warbird to prevent their ship and/or crew from falling into enemy hands, the commander may engage the self-destruct mechanism.

Regulation Number 3:
In the event of imminent destruction, a Tal'Diann warbird commander is authorized to preserve the lives of her/his crew by any justifiable means.

Regulation Number 4:
If transmissions are being monitored during battle, no uncoded messages are to be transmitted on an open channel.

Regulation Number 5:
If a warbird is cloaked and in range of hostile vessels, no radio communications may be transmitted.

Regulation Number 6:
A Tal'Diann officer must consider herself or himself under arrest, unless in the presence of the most senior fellow officers presently available, the officer give satisfactory answer to the charges against her/him.

Regulation Number 7:
In a combat situation involving more than one warbird of the Tal'Diann, command falls to the vessel with tactical superiority, should there not be a higher ranking officer present.

Regulation Number 8:
All away teams must report to the bridge at least once every 24 hours.

Regulation Number 9:
Tal'Diann personnel involved in temporal incidents are required to take all necessary precautions to minimize any participation in historical events.

Regulation Number 10:
The commanding officer must relieve herself or himself of command if her/his current mission leaves her/him emotionally compromised and unable to make rational decisions.

Regulation Number 11:
The Chief Medical Officer has the authority to relieve an officer or crewman of his or her duties (including one of superior rank) if, in the CMO's professional judgment, the individual is medically unfit, compromised by an alien intelligence, or otherwise exhibits behavior that indicates seriously impaired judgment. A Tal'Diann officer can face court martial for failing to submit to such a relief.

Regulation Number 12:
Tal'Diann personnel are, in the fulfillment of their missions, authorized to wear civilian clothing, carry unusual personal weapons, transport and possess prohibited items, pass into restricted areas, and requisition equipment of all types including weapons and vehicles.

Regulation Number 13:
The use of thalaron weapons is authorized in space combat only, and only against military opponents or adversaries which do not make distinctions between military and civilian targets, except in the application of General Order Number 22.

Regulation Number 14:
A civilian target is an impermissible target, except in case of defense (defense here includes the application of General Order Number 22).  Members of the political class of an enemy power are not considered to be civilians, but all effort must be exerted to take such persons alive and captive, unless orders to the contrary have been issued.

Regulation Number 15:
No officer or enlisted person of the Tal'Diann may hold another sentient being as a slave.

Regulation Number 16:
Code 14 transmissions are only for the eyes of the commander of a Tal'Diann warbird, and all traces of a Code 14 transmission or communication are automatically wiped from all computer records of the warbird.

Regulation Number 17:
Code 23 transmissions are only for the eyes of members of the Steering Committee of the Tal'Diann, and may be preserved only in private computers unconnected to any network until and unless they are declassified.

Romulans and Remans! Your Republic Needs YOU!

Fvillhu Ji'ana s'Tal'Diann, ihfvi Aenen s'Hathame'dhael.

The New Romulan Republic has its own military, with multiple branches. You need not seek service in the military of a foreign power, which merely tolerates you and exploits you to build its own power. You need not resign yourself to serving a corrupt and decaying Star Empire, nor licking the boots of the Tal'Shiar. The New Romulan Republic stands for liberty, equality, and justice for all Romulans and Remans. Come and serve your own people, where you will be appreciated and will build your own legacy for your own descendants.

Tal'Diann Armada and Tal-Diann Armada

The Tal'Diann (our KDF-allied main fleet) has established an Armada of fleets.  For the moment, our Beta fleets are Lasasam s'Tal'Diann (our Academy fleet) and Temchametor s'Tal'Diann (our Reserves).  We currently have no Gamma fleets in our Armada.

The Tal-Diann (our Fed-allied main fleet) has also established an Armada of fleets.  We have three Beta fleets in the Armada:  Lasasam s'Tal-Diann (our Academy fleet), Imperial Union of Planets (long-time allies from one of the Mirror Universes, headed up by the former Hmnial Fvillhum s'Tal-Diann, Aisha Vi Sato), and -Singularity Core- (another Romulan fleet).  We currently have no Gamma fleets in our Armada.

For both of these Armadas, we are seeking other fleets of the New Romulan Republic primarily, although some allowance may be made for other allies depending on their fleet cultures, goals, and allegiances.  Those interested may contact members of our Raenasa (High Command).

Tal Diann Took Part in the Stonewall Fleet's 6th Annual Pride Event in STO

Stonewall Fleet's Sixth Annual Pride Event in STO

Over the weekend just passed, elements of our fleets took part in the Sixth Annual Pride Event in STO, hosted by the Stonewall Fleet.  In spite of some vitriol from haters in the fora, the event in-game went off without a hitch.  A fun time was had by all.  On behalf of Tal'Diann, Tal-Diann, and Lasasam s'Tal'Diann, thanks to the Stonewall Fleet for putting this event on.

Before the start of the Pride Parade (the Baratan is Ji'ana's flagship, and the Aelahl is Triana's flagship)

Pride Parade about to start

The Pride Parade between Sol and Mol'Rihan systems

After leaving the Mol'Rihan system, the Pride Parade continued to Qo'noS system, and then to Drozana Station.

Ji'ana flies past Triana outside the Drozana System.

Dance Party at Drozana Station (Ji'ana is in Violet and Black Clubwear on the Dabo Table, and Triana is on the floor at about 7 or 8 o'clock.)

The Festivities continue.  (Ji'ana is still on the Dabo Table, in violet and black formalwear, and Triana is on the floor in her Tal-Diann Class A Service Uniform at about 5 o'clock.)

Kara and her mother (Ji'ana/G'essatra) on the Stonewall Starbase for the Closing Ceremony

A fun time was had by all.  We're looking forward to next year's event.  Hopefully more of our personnel will be available to attend on that occasion.

We go around to defend home.

Some critics of the leadership of Proconsul D'Tan
seized on Romulan Republic Forces being involved
in the Delta Expedition and the Delta Alliance
as yet another opportunity to defame his character
and insult his intelligence.  Such smear campaigns
have been common from the foes of freedom.

We have learned, however,
how prudent such actions were,
after uncovering the involvement
of the Ikonnsu in stirring up trouble
in the Delta Quadrant,
and finally experiencing
direct attacks by the Ikonnsu
and their minions
on our homeworlds
in the Alpha and Beta Quadrants.

We no longer live in the relative safety of the past.
A new age approaches rapidly.
The night has fallen,
and it has been a very dark night so far,
but dawn follows night,
if we resist the darkness
in all of its hidden crevices,
no matter how far from our homes
those crevices may be.

The Tal'Diann has been a part
of the Delta Alliance and the Delta Expedition.
We have been vigilant
in the defense of our homeworlds
and have built relationships with allies,
going to their aid and defense.
These relationships have not been one-sided,
for they have come
to our aid and defense as well.

Around the clock, we have stood guard
over our homes
and taken the fight to our enemies' very doorsteps.
We are the Tal'Diann,
and we will not be enslaved,
nor suffer the enslavement of our people.
With our final breaths,
we will spit defiance at our would-be overlords,
and take as many of them with us as we can.

We are the Tal'Diann.
Maybe you can be one of us.
Apply today
and stand against
the demons of air and darkness,
for all we hold dear back home.

We are
the Tal'Diann.

Join Us for Eitreih'Okhala, the Festival of Fire

Hann'yyo, Triana.  Thanks, Triana.

The people of ch'Mol'Rihan (New Romulus) celebrate Eitreih'Okhala (the Festival of Elemental Fire) this year on 27 June 2410 (in the reckoning of the Terrhasu).  In the midst of war, we do not forget who we are, nor abandon our culture.  The Tal'Diann will host -- and guard -- the celebration this year, in a special venue on Risa, in conjunction with the Risian Lohlunat Festival.  Join us for lyhorin (jumbo Romulan mollusks), viinerine (a traditional Romulan food), roast travit, ghanir ih'sraesir (meatrolls), seskethir ih'osolir (osol twists), and of course, generous amounts of kheh'irho (Romulan ale), wines, and kali-fal, as well as music and dance, and all the attractions of Risa and the Risian Lohlunat Festival,  Recruiters will also be on hand for those who aspire to join our ranks.

Live Free or Die.

The chief governing passion of the collective Romulan and Reman psyche is love of freedom.

Love of freedom is incapable of defeat.

That is why the Star Empire is gradually being wiped out, and why it will eventually be only history.

That is why the Republic is the future of Romulan power.

That is why the Ikonnsu will never conquer the Republic.

The Republic is invincible, not because we can destroy any enemy, but because no enemy will ever rule us.  We will die first.  Death would not be defeat.  Slavery would be.  Going back to kissing Sela's behind would be.

When one dies fighting for freedom, that is victory, for that person dies still free, unbent, unsubmitting, defiant to the end.  The enemy may take our lives, but they will never take our freedom.

THAT IS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE ROMULAN OR REMAN.

THAT IS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE TAL'DIANN.

Contact your local Tal'Diann Recruiter today, and LIVE FREE OR DIE.

We Do More

The caption was inspired by the US Army.

Heritage

"The Romulan Star Empire did not always stand for tyranny and humorlessness.  We remember that past and seek to emulate the Honor of those brave men and women who were Commanders and crew in a time before the Tal'Shiar rose to power.  This Honor is part of our Heritage, and a part we will not discard, a part which will be included in the Legacy we leave to our descendants, along with our love of Freedom."
-- Ji'ana ei't'Prell t'Charvon (aka G'essatra ir'Virinat t'Prell),
Praetor of the Tal'Diann/Tal-Diann

The poster was inspired by a US Navy recruiting poster.
